Medical Colleges Entry Test starting from Aug 30 to Sept 30


PMDC has announced that Medical Colleges Entry Test are starting from Aug 30. The Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) will be held from August 30 to September 30. According to the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

The PMC said in a statement that it has made a number of decisions for the upcoming academic year. Including the National Licensing Examination (NLE), MDCAT, examination conduct norms, and medical and dental undergraduate education. According to PMC President Dr. Arshad Taqi, MDCAT will totally computer-based for the first time. Allowing both local and international students to take the exam.

The exam will held in 20 designated cities across Pakistan and in selected cities abroad from August 30 to September 30 2021. depending on student registration. Applicants will be able to schedule and reschedule their examinations to more convenient times. “The council will also give Applicants the access to online tutorials and practice exams to help them. According to him, this will help them to get more familiar with the exam format,” he said.

Medical Colleges Entry Test Council’s Agenda

The Medical and Dental Council has approved the framework and curriculum for MDCAT. As recommended by the National Medical and Dental Academic Board, according to the announcement.

The academic board’s syllabus/content was mostly based on the existing biology, chemistry, and physics curricula of all Pakistani boards. It also takes the A-Level structure’s curriculum into consideration.

“For MDCAT 2021, the Academic Board suggested pass marks of 65 percent, which the Medical and Dental Council approved. A student’s result will be ready for distribution within half an hour of the exam being given. and will be supplied to the student over the internet. Students can apply to all of the colleges they want, and the PMC will submit the student’s MDCAT results straight to the colleges,” Dr Taqi explained.

The organization and syllabus for NLE, as created and suggested by the academic board, were also unanimously approved by the council. Therefore the NLE is divided into two parts. the first of which is an MCQ-based theory component and the second of which is a clinical skills exam.

The MCQ-based theory component of Step 1 of the NLE will also be a computer-based exam. that will be administered at numerous locations across Pakistan numerous times a year. with no limit on how many times a candidate can take it.

The NLE Step 1 result will be valid for five years. allowing a student to take and pass the Step 2 exam throughout that time.

During 2021-2022, physical examiners will administer the Step 2 or skills exam. While PMC is developing a 3D exam system for Step 2. For both Step 1 and Step 2, the qualifying marks for the NLE will be 70%.

Medical Colleges Entry Test MDCAT 2021 to be held Online

The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has declared that the MDCAT 2021 (National Medical and Dental College Admission Test) will be conducted online. The examination will take place between August 30 and September 30. Tomorrow, June 5, 2021, will be the first day of registration.

There will be test centers in 20 cities. The council will allow the Students to choose their preferred center during Medical Colleges Entry Test. Students will also be able to choose from three different exam dates. They will also be able to reschedule their tests if they have valid grounds.

To avoid any anomalies or mismanagement, all private medical colleges in the country will notify their admissions no later than June 30, 2021. Therefore the merit method will give National MDCAT 2021 a minimum of 50% weightage.

According to PMC, passing the MDCAT requires a minimum score of 65 percent.

Schedule for National MDCAT Registration in 2021:

The National MDCAT 2021 registration period will begin on June 5, 2021. Registration for National MDCAT 2021 closes on June 15, 2021.

The education council made it mandatory to pass the NUMS entry test, to get the admission in Medical Colleges. A multiple-choice question-based test worth 200 points. There are no negative markings.
